[SYNOPSIS]

Leah Jensen is a skilled ceramic carver who developed her signature style through a mapping method that enables her to carve intricate geometric interpretations of Renaissance paintings into ceramic pots.

For Award 2025, in a departure from her usual methods, Leah explored anxieties around housing insecurity, drawing upon her experience in 21 different living situations. Using hand-building skills with unglazed terracotta, textiles and found objects, she created an installation constructed from many objects. We filmed Leah in Deptford High Street, a centre of a vibrant community and a major source of inspiration for her work.
